Transmission Dixon Scaffolding (Transmission) Ltd. is our specialist power line division, providing professional scaffolding support to the Transmission Industry.

Our transmission division has provided specialist scaffold guards to various obstacles for the new Stalingborough - South Humberside 400kV line.

To enable the new transmission line to be strung, an existing 132kV transmission had to be lowered onto a diamond crossing, both circuits of the 132kV line had to have scaffold guards and netting erected to 24m in height to enable the new 400kV conductors to be strung over the top
Level Crossing at South Humberside
Scaffolding guards with netting were required to be erected where conductors to the new 400kV overhead lines were to be strung over the A180 Trunk Road, the main route into Great Grimsby. All netting and subsequent de-netting work had to be completed within a 4 hour period while the road was closed to traffic.

Also, a solution had to be designed and erected for this very awkward crossing where conductors had to be strung over a level crossing, the B1210 Road and Mainline railway tracks. Scaffolds were designed and constructed to comply with both the Highway Authority requirements and Railtracks regulations and stipulations.

The netting operation required simultaneous possessions of both the B1210 and the mainline railtracks. To further complicate matters the work had to be carried out in the same 4 hour period as the work was being undertaken on the A180 Trunk Road Crossing.
